Christening Gifts |
| History of Christening Gifts: In the same way that presents were given in the past to married couples to set them up with both money and materials for their new life together; christening gifts were initially small items of monetary or material value that could be kept as an initial investment for the child's future. The silver sixpence or the lucky sovereign could be the start of a nest-egg to help the child gain independence in later life. The Victorian's influence changed the emphasis of christening gifts from one of a purely financial nature to objects of intrinsic value, which originally were made of sterling silver. We are pleased to offer a wide selection of baby christening and baptism gifts, godparent gifts and gifts for other family members. Godparent |

| Role of the Godparent: dates from the days when converts to the early Christian church were usually adults whose parents were not Christians. The Godparents role was to provide a Christian mentor to help them through life. Today Godparents are chosen not only for their own Christian beliefs but also because they are very close friends of the parents or family members and will stay close to the child to offer support when needed. Say thank you to your godparents with a gift they will remember forever. |
